One of the boys that lives there (we call him Max) is the sweetest, most calmly inquisitive little guy. I’ve talked about him before as the kid who is inevitably looking at the camera in every single picture I have of him. He is so curious. This week he asked if we could go outside. The orphanage has a big beautiful playground outside the building, but they rarely get to use it because there are not enough nannies to supervise them climbing all around together. I, on the other hand, can make that happen with a couple kids at a time. So Charlotte, Max, and I ventured outside. Max just lit up when we saw the playground. Sure, he knows it’s there all the time. But the opportunity to actually play on it, and with someone, made him beyond excited.
That just continues to be disproved. Stay tuned!
