Thanks to the generosity of our donors, our "Pick-A-Piece" fundraiser brought in $1,585 to be used towards furnishing our new home! Check out the results so far:
Home has also been important for two of the kiddos Hope Station serves: Peter and Evie were united with their forever families for the first time! We were unable to be there for those sweet moments, but we are so thrilled that Peter and Evie have both gone to loving families who will give them the hope they deserve.
Overall, it's been a very busy month for me and Hope Station. We move closer and closer to opening the doors of Hope Station, and still hope to do so by the end of this summer. But there is still much to do! We are working closely with our nonprofit partners from CRDF (see our partner Jerry in the picture below) and our Board of Directors and Administrative Assistant in the States (Board Member and Administrative Assistant Mike and Marsha Wilder just visited for two weeks), and we have started the hiring process of staff (Enya is our new Cultural Liaison). Still to come in the next couple months, we need find a local hospital that is willing to partner with us in our medical needs, to continue and conclude conversations with the orphanage director about which children we will receive, and hire the aunties that will provide care for our future kiddos.
With a newly equipped space and lots of support from the local Chengdu community, I feel more ready every day to take on this vision that our Father gave me so many years ago. I remind myself every single day that this is His, not mine. And He is going to see it to fruition. Thank you, each of you, for standing with me along the way.
